This project was to design a experimental typographic or graphic design conference book. I wanted to design a 56-page conceptual experimental book that addres-ses the topic of the conference, promotional poster, map and schedule at a glance, digital conference entry badge for iphones and a kinetic video.
The goal of this project was to take an everyday object, such as a paper-clip, to experiment or create something new and even abstract. The paper-clip is flat, but when we stretch it and reshape it, we can get a lot different shapes. Just imagine if we made it bigger, longer, and three- dimensional and integrated it into the construction to see how the structure works. The event is trying to inspire the viewers to make the ordinary extraordinary and break the traditional way of thinking.

I wanted to create a new brand and package for Samaria, the Greek bottle water company, to make it stand out and be unique and at same time make the package more upscale. Samaria is a Greek brand of pure natural spring water without any chemical treatment that comes from the natural springs of the White Mountains of Stilos.
When I think about Greece, I feel the main element is the pattern; they have lots of patterns on their historic buildings and pottery. Similarly, I feel the unique part of the product is the pattern, so I made the ancient water bottle pottery as the logo, and the classic pattern goes around the bottle to make people think of Greece when they see the bottle.

My goal is to design a brochure or poster series for a company which I like. The company I chose is Cost Plus World Market. The name originated from the initial concept, since abandoned, of selling items for “cost plus 10%”. Its headquarters are in Oakland, California. They bring the beauty and excitement of global bazaars to you.
Nomads are people who travel around from place to place. They don’t really live in a permanent place, and they follow freedom and explore nature. The nomad experience is just like what the world market brings us. Cost Plus World Market transforms shopping into an adventure by continually filling aisle after aisle with great finds at great prices from around the world.
Franco’s Stop is a privately held company in South San Francisco, CA. The founder name is Gus Franco. The food truck sell fresh food and they have a hot food section in the back of the truck. The goal was to create a logo label for the delicatessen, to make it works on different kind of packaging.
The idea of the design is from the name, Franco’s stop. So my thought directly goes to stop sign, which is a very powerful symbol. Therefore, I used the shape of the stop sign to create this logo and made a further development to create the label with this unique shape. I used two colors to design the logo, which are black and red to highlight the name of the product. I think the colors and patterns made the product appetizing.
It helps the user track the location of their pet, alert the user of a potentially dangerous area and keep their pet safe and happy walking outside.
BELOW THE SURFACE
For this project I chose to design a promotion for a line of paper in an existing company. I wanted to develop a message related to the name of the paper line, which is shade. Shade reminded me of shadow and gradient, which are always behind an object. They also make the object more dimensional and alive. Therefore, I decided to choose “unconscious” as my concept due to the way it shows the dark side of human beings to explain people’s actions.
I used gradient of grey from light to dark to explain how the unconscious brain works. Also I made the typography spelling in different languages to show how the brain loses control.

For this project the goal was to develop a comprehensive brand for the Aero store, which is an upscale store part of the Target. The store has to have their store brand, but also have stand alone brands. Emphasis will be placed on creating compelling and engaging packaging that meets project goals and specific target marketing needs.
We wanted to achieve the upscale aspect of the Aero Store. Our group decided to have a product line for home décor, kitchens, children, gourmet food and the outdoors as our store brand. For stand-alone brands we had Milk and Honey, Munchkins, Garnish and Colten. For this chapter, I will use white space to present the packaging.
Lines are the basic elements of design. We can connect them to each other and overlay them to create a mood of pandemonium. In order to create a totally different visual effect, I used a metallic-effect font to edit the product’s name and patterns. Since the name is Pandemonium, I decided to use some messy lines, shapes and plaid designs to cover half of the bottle.
Redesign the product to make the design stand out. The original bottle design was quite static and boring. It didn’t really match the name of the product, Pandemonium. Redo the design and try to create a whole new look for the product to catch consumers’ attentions.
